“Child trafficking is a staggering $30-billion industry in the United States”.

VERY FEW OPTIONS

Children rescued from trafficking have far too few qualified environments where they can be taken for habitation and training for a normal productive life. All too often they end up in juvenile detention programs. Sadly, there are few local and national rehabilitative facilities in which to place them.

OFTEN RETURN TO TRAFFICKERS

Mostly young girls, rescued children are either placed in runaway shelters, safe houses, domestic violence shelters or foster care. With very few rehabilitative treatments to help them heal, they are very likely to run away again, back to their Traffickers, due to trauma bonding.

RUNAWAYS ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE

Victims are often runaways or are homeless. Florida has approximately 30,000 – 40,000 teenage runaways each year, some being abused by a family member or forced out of their homes. One out of three runaway teens will be lured by sex-traffickers and forced into sex and labor trafficking within 48 hours.

FEW LONG TERM CARE FACILITIES

A facility could provide not only a secure place for recovery but also critical programs that focus on mental health support, education, vocational training, and legal assistance. By offering these services, Innocence Haven would aim to empower survivors, help them regain a sense of agency, and equip them with the tools necessary to rebuild their lives and become active members of society again.

LIKELY VICTIMS

Between 5% to 15% of human trafficking cases are ever discovered or reported. Only 1% of child sex trafficking victims are ever found. 78% of child trafficking victims in the US are girls. Innocence Haven could become a central advocate for children affected by trafficking, raising awareness and working to influence policy change to ensure greater protections. IH could play a pivotal role for the recovery and empowerment of trafficked children across the US.

INNOCENCE HAVEN LEADS THE WAY

Innocence Haven will be a national leader in providing long-term care and rehabilitation for rescued sex and labor trafficked children. By offering specialized, trauma-informed care and creating a safe, healing environment, Innocence Haven will significantly address the unique needs of these children.
